Apartment Overview
This newly renovated apartment is located on the ground floor of our home. The apartment features an open kitchen, dining, living room area with wide views of the bay, boats and islands. Both bedrooms have queen beds with large closets adjacent to the ¾ bath and washer/dryer. Private covered porch features outdoor furniture and gas grill making it a great place to relax and watch the boating activities outside. A fifteen minute drive North will bring you to downtown Brunswick home to local restaurants, brew pubs, museums and the Maine State Music Theater located on Bowdoin College’s campus. Travel South fifteen minutes and you will discover Harpswell’s special waterfront restaurants, kayak rental options, small beaches and walking trails along the rocky coast.

Total apartment occupancy is 4 people.
Please no smoking inside apartment or within 25 feet of the house.
No pets are allowed.
No parties or events are allowed without consultation with us first. We have good neighbors and we want to keep them happy.
The immediate area around the apartment is not safe for unattended young children as the front lawn and lower parking area slopes steeply down the rocks into the ocean.
Privacy
The apartment is the entire ground floor living space in the house we live in. Since we live above the apartment you will hear us walking around at times and maybe some muffled voices, likewise we might hear you if you are standing on the front lawn and our windows are open. Parking area, access to apartment and porch area is separate from our living area, but our paths could cross at times when we are outside on our side of the house. We are friendly and happy to share local knowledge but will also respect your desire for privacy during your stay. We are available by phone or text 24/7 or in person depending on our schedule.
Our Neighborhood / Local Harpswell
Our house is located in a private setting near other year round & seasonal waterfront homes. Our driveway connects to a ¼ mile long road that loops on and off the main road which is a pleasant walk. The Great Island Marina is located a ¼ mile away and our view includes many of their customer’s boats / yachts that are moored out front.
We are conveniently located 15 minutes from downtown Brunswick (home to many restaurants, brew pubs, golf courses, the Maine State Music Theater and Bowdoin College) in one direction and 15 minutes away from Orr’s Island & Bailey Island (small beaches, walking trails, kayak rental and waterfront restaurants) in the other.
If you have never been to Harpswell you have a lot of wonderful new places to explore and things to do. We will gladly offer suggestions on what you might consider doing during your stay- we will give you the "inside scoop". You can also go nowhere and enjoy watching the boating activity in the bay, relax comfortably on the covered porch or cook up some fresh local lobsters outside in our lobster steamer.

30 - 45 Minutes North -
Bath – An old and current shipbuilding town, home of Bath Iron Works and the Maine Maritime Museum.
Popham Beach State Park / Fort Popham -- Beautiful three mile sandy beach located at the mouth of the Kennebec River. Fish the river, search for sand dollars and explore tide pools. Fort Popham is a civil war era coastal defense fortification at the end of the beach.
Reid State Park / Beach – Sand dunes, sea birds, rolling ocean waves and a saltwater lagoon are just a few of the features the park offers.
Boothbay Harbor – Small quaint, harbor side restaurants, tourist shops, whale watching tours.
30-45 Minute South –
Freeport – Home of L.L.Bean, outlet shopping, Gritty McDuffs brew pub, Maine Beer Company and much more.
Portland – Maine’s largest city hosting a vibrant waterfront / downtown area, award winning restaurants, emerging craft beer mecca, music venues and museums. FYI- If someone in your group can’t go a week without visiting a mall they tell me we have one in South Portland.
Who We Are
My wife and I are locals and continue to appreciate the beauty of Harpswell and surrounding areas. My parents built this house in 1989 and I lived in the ground floor apartment for a few years until I met my wife. Shortly after we married we moved upstairs and expanded the living area to accommodate our family. We are excited to share with others the opportunity to experience life on the coast of Maine, Harpswell style! We hope your visit is as rich and rewarding as it has been for us for the past 25 years.
